May I collect statistics about visits to my website? I use Umami (opens in a new tab) , a program for visitor statistics that runs on my own server. This helps me see which information people are interested in.
To group visits within the same day, my server calculates a temporary code of letters and numbers from your IP address. Umami receives this code, not your IP address. The code changes every day and cannot be used to recognise you across different days.
Your screen, mouse movements and typed text are not recorded. The statistics contain no location information, and the data is not used to tailor advertising to you. Entries are deleted after 90 days; cleanup runs daily.
You can use the website without these statistics and without any restrictions. A cookie stores your acceptance or rejection for 180 days so the question does not appear on every visit. You can change your decision at any time under “Privacy settings”. Details and privacy policy
